On 14 of September 2017 was the ceremony of the opening of a new research and production complex BPK-NORTH. There are a modern innovation center, a workshop for the production of CNC machine tools, an administrative block and a new design bureau of Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University in the new areas of the enterprise.
The first word was given by Deputy Prime Minister of the Leningrad Region Dmitry Yalov. He emphasized that the Russian machine tool industry is the most important industry, without which it is impossible to imagine the process of import substitution and, in general, reindustrialization. He is sure that the project implemented by the BPK gives impetus to the development of complex and high-precision enterprises in the region.
He was also supported by Maxim Meixin, chairman of the Committee for Economic Development and Investment. He also noted that the opening of a such complex is an important step towards localization of serious competence in the territory of the Leningrad Region and Saint-Petersburg, enhancing the country's technological independence.
General Director of BPK Diana Kaledina drew the attention of those present to the fact that the project is aimed at mastering the production of a wide range of metal-cutting machine tools in the territory of the Russian Federation. The investment plan provides for the construction of another production complex.
Andrei Egorov, director of the department of the ammunition transportation industry of the state atomic energy corporation "Rosatom", said that the project "Stankostroenie" allows producing complex and high-precision products that can strengthen the positions of Russian companies in the international machine-tool market.
"The opening of a complex of this level is a unique event," says Alexei Peskov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Sasta". He also announced the start of a partnership between BPK and the largest machine-tool plant of the country "Sasta".
Andrei Rudskoy, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Rector of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, convinced that the creation of such research and production complexes leads to the decision of competitive production. He noted that the private company convincingly demonstrates the state approach to the development of science and innovation.
Also, many enterprises from all over Russia took part in the event. On the territory of the research and production complex BPK-SEVER, the guests saw metalworking equipment of the world's leading machine-tool plants in action, metal-working machines of Russian production with the use of automated systems, a hybrid additive installation, Russian CNC systems and automated control systems (production of "NIIIS", state corporation "Rosatom"), as well as the Russian metal cutting tool (manufactured by "PO Start", state corporation "Rosatom").
